really?

Is this true.. I mean, really? Because you are a funny guy.. so, are you kidding or what? Because I hate to admit it.. and this might sound a bit gay, but that actually made me feel a bit empty inside for a moment, so you better not be joking, because if you are, DAMN YOU, you inconsiderate bastard. Anyways, love the animation as always, it's bittersweet.. I'm used to carelessly-funny from you though. Such a bellic country...

LazyMuffin responds:

Yes, this is borderline sad. Agreed.
And yeah, it's true, but everthing will be ALL RIGHT.

Nice to see you here again

I got your message from FB, but I had already checked it out, gave you a very good grade too. Of your submissions, this is my favorite so far, I was just experimenting with the pixel tools too, interesting coincidence. You work fast man, it seemed like it took some work.

Hildebrandt responds:

Hey, thanks for your review! I could still have put shades on everything but, you know... semester started :D Take care and let me know when you do something new.

it was ... great

very entertaining, varied.. and senseless, that made it just pure fun. You have a great talent for animating... I mean your timing for actions and lip sync is just so entertaining, that the actual drawing can be all choppy and crappy and the action still looks great. I like your characters and some of your humour... oh and the girl jumping... freakin hipnotizing. Great.. now I'll have to check your other stuff... and I have work to do, damn.

Jae responds:

I'm so glad you could appreciate it, man.

You know what is my favorite part of?

The handwriting you use, I love the handwriting you put on your text. I'm joking, but it is quite good.
In the first part I liked how it felt like a painting, and the colors and sound gave it a very nice wholesome look... I am not very fond of that kind of drawing though, I liked the second part's style much more, specially the atmosphere, the way you portrayed the city. I will give you some advice though... (that I should follow myself, but I still can't pull it off, if you do, do tell me). When tweening to change angle and zoom, be a bit more careful with the pace, and the smoothness of the tween, so it doesn't feel very mechanical .. I'm still bad at zooms and angles, ha, so there you go.
Again, I like the story you're trying to tell, I think I understood the point. I'll contact you later.. about *shhh....* the secret project... *shhhhh*

Hildebrandt responds:

OOOH, THE SECRET PROJECT, WOOOHOOO... yeah, i know what you mean- but I told ya, I suck at shifts of perspective ;)

I tried

I wanted to like this more than I actually did, I really tried. The style is good at first, but it got a bit tiering. I liked how you used textures and masks, and the idea of complementing it with a black on white animation was good.... but using some sort 3d animation for that... not that good, and some parts just felt like a "self help/cheap spiritual" video, like the water reflection. It got too busy too, and you had to either read the text or pay attention to the animation, which also made it kind of frustrating. I appreciate the art and the intention, it was a good piece, but these details made it hard for me to enjoy it.

cheers

Cridia responds:

About the 3D part; I tried hand animating it at first, but for some reason I couldnt get the style I wanted out of it. The characters I aimed to have were also kind of detailed, so 3D animation was a better choice for me. Not that I will use 3D on every animation from now on mind you; after the recent experience I am not going to touch 3D animation for a while again; the bugs during animating it drained the enjoyment of it all. Right now I am glad the piece is finished.

Thanks for the comment!

Great

I specially love the scenery, it's my best part, though the idea was nice, and it went very well with the song you chose

Stibby responds:

Thanks!
Yeah, I like drawing environments.
Glad you liked it.
:]

blue much?

You kind of copied "more like blue".... Anyways, I LOVE mlb so much that I liked this too. I'm just happy that someone continued with that kind of humor, keep at it, I hope you are able to do stuff as funny and well done as mlb, you're not very far from that.

rockymike responds:

I miss MLB. That's sort of my reason for starting this project. There hasn't been a new MLB in almost two years. No one is doing stuff like that and someone needs to fill the void.

There's a second one in the works, it's much better than the first. This was just to introduce the characters.
